“In guarding their fortune men are often closefisted, yet, when it comes to the matter of wasting time, in the case of the one thing in which it is right to be miserly, they show themselves most prodigal.” Seneca the Younger On the Shortness of Life
The time I spend thinking about, writing about and most importantly playing D&D is time I enjoy. I get a lot out of it. Yes D&D is “just a game.” However, it is a game that involves being with people. It is a game that is a learning opportunity. It is a game that develops your creativity. It is a game that is intrinsically rewarding to play.
When people openly criticize the playing of D&D and how it is a waste of time, I wonder what it is they do with their time.
